What's the difference between QBO and QFX?
QBO and QFX are both based on the OFX (Open Financial Exchange) format. QBO is QuickBooks-specific branding, while QFX is the generic OFX format. Both work with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. Use QBO for best compatibility with QuickBooks.
Which format should I use for QuickBooks Online?
QuickBooks Online accepts both QBO and QFX files. We recommend QBO format for the best compatibility. Simply go to Banking > Upload Transactions and select your downloaded file.
Can I convert credit card transactions?
Yes! Select "Credit Card" as the account type before converting. This sets the correct account type flag in the QBO/QFX file so QuickBooks knows to import it as credit card transactions.
What columns are required in my CSV/Excel file?
You need at minimum: Date, Description, and Amount columns. Balance is optional. We auto-detect columns based on headers and content patterns. If auto-detection fails, you can manually select which column contains which data.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your file is uploaded directly to encrypted cloud storage, processed without human review, and automatically deleted within 24 hours. We never store or share your financial data.
